I recently listened to a Chicago Bears podcast that went into detail of why Jalen Hurts should be a draft pick for the Chicago Bears. This made me wonder what he would look like in a Bears uniform. A lot of designers who follow the NFL like to do jersey swaps where they add swap out jersey’s on players and it is something I have never done before. This is my first attempt at doing this so I looked up a tutorial on Youtube for just some pointers and what to look for in terms of the images to be used. I found the above image using a google search (I do not own this image). I then found an image of a former Chicago Bears player and began the process of using the pen tool in Photoshop to remove the jersey from Jay Cutler in this instance, and then move that layer to my Jalen Hurts document. Once the layer was added I used “Warp” to position the jersey in roughly the right position. From there it was cleaning everything up with the pen tool, the clone stamp, and a layer mask on the new bears jersey. To color the helmet I used a new layer and the brush tool with a layer style called “Color”. For my first attempt I think it looks decent, the shoulder pads were a little hard and the new bears jersey didn’t come down around his stomach so I had to clone that in. The results are below:
