As I have gotten older I have thought a lot about creating my brewing company and the various types of beers that I would create. The above design is what I think I would call it and what the logo could look like. During the pandemic and the lockdowns I have been attempting woodworking and would love to incorporate the terminology into my craft beers.
The dot effect is create in Illustrator and can be applied to anything that is an object even the stroke of an object. Once I had my text I rasterized it, made sure it was a variation of gray (colors tend to be harder to control), then I clicked Effect > Pixelate > Color Halftone. Depending on the numbers used you can achieve this sort of effect. The Bowtie logo was created the same way but I used a radial gradient of gray to white then added another circle with a small stroke to set it off. Once that was complete I moved it over to Photoshop as a smart object.
Above you can see the layers and styles I used to create the final version. The gradient was a layer style with a layer mask to only show the logo. The background is just a very subtle gradient.
